Hello, I am Zsuzsi, 22, Hungarian, I spent 2 month with EVS in Stara Zagora at the CEI. My main responsibilities were about dealing with children. The children adored foreigners, due them I felt to be very special (even without doing anything!), but the best was when we were able to play or sing together. It was adventurous to deal with each other without really speaking a common language, and I was surprised when - in a game which we have played also previously - they begun to countdown in Hungarian! This was the first time I’ve been living abroad, I got to like Stara Zagora with its fountains, parks and hill, the landscape of Buzludzha, the alphabet in which my „Zs” letter is not the last, the Bulgarian ’хоро’ dances; I tried out hitchhiking, participated in running race… and most of my best experiences I owe to the people I met here. I was lucky that I could speak also German with my roommate, had Easter time twice, and got into a newspaper, but I suppose that - after being taught even by the ticket seller on a bus - I will never understand how to pronounce „L” in the word Kolarovo. During this EVS I learned independence, I had to buy my food and budget my money, became more mobile at travelling, packing my luggage and catching busses, and experienced that I can be part of miracles every day, it depends just on me.
